Former head of county vets office charged with embezzlement

The former director of Calhoun County’s Veterans Affairs office has been named in a warrant charging three counts of embezzlement. Prosecutor David Gilbert authorized the charges Wednesday morning. As expected, the St. Joseph County Road Commission has begun enforcing the seasonal weight restrictions. The annual restriction took effect at 7 a.m. Tuesday. Seasonal weight restriction permits can be downloaded from the website: stjoeroads.com.
